Some Elephant Love

Nikki here to share a dt sample today, inspired by a photo of an elephant I saw online with the following caption : 'No-one in the world needs an Elephant tusk but an Elephant'.

This is a postcard featuring the gorgeous elephant image from the Safari Party Set :
The background is alcohol inks on acetate.

A close up of the gorgeous and imposing power animal, the elephant :
I really love this stamp set, it contains five awesome safari animals in hats. I can see many uses for these images, for both serious and light hearted/fun projects :)

Watch how easy it is to make this!
The video is a bit long, I almost feel compelled to apologize for it but I have had so many people tell me how much they enjoy the longer videos because it feels like they are crafting with a friend. Awww, thanks guys:) That makes me so happy! I guess it is nice to have a mix of both:) I hope you try some artsy limited supply scrapbook or journal pages. You will be surprised at what you can do with just a few things! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Simplicity

Nikki here sharing an art journal page I did, using Cityscape and the Licence Plate alphabet.
I really enjoyed the play on words here with simpli .... 'city'. The thought behind this page is that life is so busy, over populated and we are over stimulated, its good to go back to the simple things in life and enjoy them :)

My page is also simply constructed, I masked and stamped the cityscape in the three colors, overlapping them slightly. I used yellow ink as a sort of watercolor wash effect for the sky. The page is edged in brown distress ink. I created an additional page just like this one and stamped my individual letters and cut them out. They are also lightly sponged around the edge in brown distress ink.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Serenity

Hello Everybody,

For my DT post I decided to make a card :.

As a base I used a gelli print. I used white ink, a stencil and a blending tool to add the white dots. The stamp is called "Serenity Diva" and she was stamped on the gelliprint and on a separate piece of card stock. I coloured the image on the white card and cut out everything apart from the wiggly lines next to the head. I then adhered the cut out image on top of the one on the cardpanel. I added some sequens and some seed beads and then matted the panel on some black card stock after which I glued the whole thing on a white card base.

Thanks for stopping by !

Hope you like it....

We Can Can Dance ...

I created this postcard using the image Showgirls, for the new challenge, 'Girl, Girls, Girls' that began yesterday.
I wanted to show the wonderful stage presence of the can can dancers. I was fortunate enough to see a live show a few years ago in Dawson City in the Yukon, Canada. It was really mesmerizing and I remember a lot of red. Which I think influenced the creation of this project, with the lavish red curtains.

The showgirls were stamped and clear embossed, then I masked their faces and stamped two more times, slightly to the left side. I wanted to give the feeling of motion and shadows from the spot lights.

I loved this play on words, this is an unknown quote I found on Pinterest, obviously only one 'can' in the original :)

Thanks for stopping by, and why not go and check out our challenge. Nikki x
